Act 250 Approves Jay Peak Rec Center

August 7, 2014

The District Environmental Commission #7 issued a Land Use Permit Amendment to Jay Peak Resort to construct an indoor recreation facility. The center will be located on State Side. Plans call for a 1,500 multi-level climbing activities, games, and theater space.
The permit has cleared local planning and zoning, but it took several meetings to reach an agreement. Local planners were concerned about parking issues and aesthetics. Planners attached conditions to the permit that deal with landscaping and pedestrian walkways with signage.
