By LAURA CARPENTER Express Staff Writer GLOVER – Some residents of Glover feel like their privacy was invaded by a military helicopter and they are upset by the presence of several federal officers, heavily armed with rifles and shotguns, standing guard in their town recently. Haskell Opera House: For Rent? |

 Featuring historic architecture, antique decor, and excellent accoustics, the Haskell Opera House may be the venue for a private wedding or other event to raise the money it needs to survive. Phtoto curtesy Lynn Leimer. By LAURA CARPENTER Express Staff Writer DERBY LINE/ STANSTEAD, QUE., Problems in the economy have hit the Haskell Library and Opera House hard. Library hours have been cut back and the famous opera house, once featured in the A&E made-for-television movie “Barnum,” can now be rented for private use in an attempt to save the historic building. Talks of closing the Opera House took place about two years ago. The endowment, which was to be used to support the building, had been invested and was almost completely lost when the stockmarket fell, but a tremendous movement was undertaken to save the Haskell.
