Boston Scientific Shares Plummet on Analyst Report

Boston Scientific (BSX) shares are plummeting today on an analyst report that it is suspending sales of its implantable defibrillator devices due to a documentation error in regulatory filings. The Bernstein Research analyst said the error was discovered last Friday, and the length of the cardiac device suspension is unclear.

AMR Faces Civil Penalties from FAA

The Federal Aviation Administration said late Friday it will fine American Airlines parent AMR (AMR) $787,500 for deferred maintenance incidents. The FAA said the civil fines relate to three incidents where maintenance was deferred in a broken secondary flight control system, as well as the failure to inspect rudder components on four Boeing (BA) 757 jets, and proceeding to fly the planes despite knowing the error was made.
