Brighton death blamed on meth

BRIGHTON, VT - Vermont State Police said Tuesday that the October death of a 22-year-old Island Pond woman is being blamed on a methadone overdose. The investigation into the death of Tiffany Wight is continuing, said Maj. Edward Ledo, commander of the criminal division.
Wight's body was found in the upstairs bedroom of her village home at 123 Railroad St. at about 6 p.m. Oct. 31, Detective Sgt. Jake Zorn said at the time. She was found by her live-in boyfriend, Troy Sheltra, after he returned home from work, police said.
Wight was found lying on the floor near the crib of her 1-month-old child and in the same room where another, 18-month-old child was asleep on a bed. Zorn said both children were healthy.
No foul play or suspicious activity was evident, Zorn said at the time. He also said no physical evidence of a drug overdose was found at the home.
Ledo said police could offer the public only limited information because the investigation was continuing.
