ISLAND POND — The Town of Brighton School District and Town Meeting were sparsely attended, mainly due to the lack of any controversial issues and perhaps the frigid weather. The dual meetings passing the school budget and town budget were held on Monday night, while voting followed on Tuesday.
As a result of the election on Tuesday, retired postmaster James Cross easily won election over William Hawkins with 140 votes to Hawkins’ 67.
