CRAFTSBURY-The Craftsbury Academy boys improved to 16-3 on the season as they put the pedal to the metal in a 74-27 win. The Chargers had good balance as senior Andrew Marckres netted 22 and fellow senior teammate Jason Martin tacked on another 11. Freshman forward Jon DelaBruere collected ten for UCA.
The Craftsbury girls took their contest 63-24 over the Crusaders. With most of the talk about Craftsbury’s new gymnasium, which will be built beginning in April, UCA head coach Sara Roy said afterward,” I’m happy for them. We would be glad to have either a gym like this or a new one. It’s kind of an end to an era for them and they are very fortunate.”
The UCA boys will wrap up their schedule this week while the girls will conclude their 2011-12 season next week. Both UCA teams will not enter the 2012 post-season tournament.
