Derby Line Zoning Petition For Public Vote Not Valid

April 10, 2014

Derby Line Village Hall. (Facebook)

The petition signed by Derby Line residents calling for an Australian ballot vote on a proposed zoning bylaw change is not valid. If the residents want a public vote they will have to present another petition. The issue was, according to Derby Zoning Administrator Bob Kelly, that the wording on the petition did not call for a public vote.
But the issue may be resolved soon without a public vote.
