DERBY – The local Ducks Unlimited Chapter held its 37th annual banquet and fundraiser at the Elks Club in Derby Saturday night with more than 150 supporters in attendance. The event combines a variety of fundraising activities, an update of legislation under consideration by the Vermont House and Senate, and a fellowship dinner that brought together supporters of Ducks Unlimited's mission.
Ducks Unlimited (DU) is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of wetlands and contiguous habitats for the benefit of waterfowl and associated wildlife. Founded in 1937 in Washington, D.C., chapters spread quickly worldwide as a result of concerns, primarily among sportsmen, about the loss of wetlands and its effect on waterfowl.
