Falcon XC Finishes 3rd at U32
EAST MONTPELIER–The North Country boys and girls cross country teams both took home 3rd place overall at the U32 XC Invitational last Saturday. In an odd coincidence both teams ended up with a total of 113 points in their respective finishes.Middlebury (65 pts) set the pace in the girls division, Bellows Free Academy (80 pts) coming in second and the NC girls (113pts) in third.In the boys race it was Middlebury (47 pts) again at the top of the pack with host team U32 (78 pts) in second followed by the Falcons (113pts). The girls team had 2 top 10 finishers with senior captain Steph Watson in 5th (22:02) & junior captain Haley Jo Tetreault with a break-through race taking 7th (22:35). Caitlin Smith was 18th (23:49), Jordan Howell 36th (25:05) and Jade Dandurand rounded out the scoring in 67th place (27:42). Senior Dave Durivage looked strong as the 1st Falcon boy in at 12th place overall (19:05) with senior captain Trevor Howell in 14th at 19:12. Ross DeLaBruere ran a solid race finishing in 22nd (19:33). Junior Captain Trevor Roberts was 28th (19:54) and freshmen Sam Brunnette had a very good race finishing 40th (20:25).Next up is a trip down I-91 Wednesday to compete in Lyndon Institute's home race starting at 4:30.
