Falcons Blast Their Way Past Rice 17-2

NEWPORT–Taylor Blake pitched a two hitter in her first varsity start as the Falcon bats erupted, driving in seventeen runs to fuel North Country’s 17-2 win over Rice."She did a great job out there," said coach Leslie Dunn of Blake. "I think she was a little nervous, but as the game went on her location improved."The lop-sided affair lasted just six innings ,as the fifteen run rule kicked in and mercifully ended the contest for the Green Knights. The Falcons had some great three-hit performances from their line-up on Tuesday, Kayla Desheneau, who played the outfield instead of pitching, had a single, double and a homer, Anna Bingham had two singles and a double, Anna Ghelli did the same, adding two RBI's and Maddy Mosher went 3-4 while doing a masterful job while handling the catching duties for Blake."I thought Maddy did an excellent job behind the plate, our D played really well, and offensively we put the ball in play and good things happened," said Dunn.North Country, now 2-3, will try to keep the momentum rolling today against BFA St. Albans when the two teams square off at Falcon Field at
