NEWPORT–With a trip to the Division I boy's basketball play-offs on the line, the North Country Falcons came up a little short, losing to Champlain Valley Union 61-46 to put an end to what has been a trying 2012-2013 season.
"It was very frustrating," said NCU coach Brian Bonvechio. "We have a lot more talent than we showed as a basketball team.
"A lot of it's my fault for not being able to bring the team together and make then work together, but we just never found that chemistry on the court or off."
Leading the way for the Falcons was Colton White, who had 12 points and 8 rebounds. Tyler Paxman was also in double digits with 10 points, and a rebound.
North Country finishes the year with a 2-18 record, but the team has reason to be optimistic looking forward.
