NEWPORTâ€“In their second home meet of the season, it was all North Country, all afternoon, as a boys score of 142 and a girls score of 71 added up to a win for the home team on Monday.
Starting with the boys, the Falcons had ten first place finishes, ten second's, and eight third's, which set the tone for the afternoon.
Coming home with individual wins were Aaron Brown in the 110 hurdles, Riley Simoneau in shot, Nick LeClair in the 100, Taylor Prue in the discus and high jump, Josh Brien in the long jump, Ross DeLaBruere in the 800, Colton White in the javelin and Trevor Howell in the 3000. The boys also took the 4x100.
The girls were also impressive on Monday, winning nine events, taking second in six, and finishing third three times.
Earning the nine first place wins were the girls 4x800 and 4x400 relay in the team events.
Individual winners were Haley Jo Tetreault in the 1500, Jenna Moss in the discus, Laura Smith in the long jump, uncontested Avery Parsons-Grayson in the 800, Amber Lampiris-Tremba in the 300 hurdles, Morgan Greene in the javelin and Stephanie Watson in the 3000.
The competition fared as follows; In the boys meet MVU second with 61 points, Chelsey in third with 29, and BFA Fairfax fourth with nine. On the girls side MVU again in second with 65 and BFA Fairfax in third with 33.
North Country will now get some well deserved rest, as they have a week to prepare for their next meet in Essex on May 16th
