On Friday, September 30th, the NCUHS Girls Varsity Soccer team ran a training session for the Junior High program in Derby. The session started with an overview of the high school program, expectations for the pre-season, and the fall try-out procedure explained by Varsity coaches Peter Alexander and Joe Batista. Both coaches Steve Farrow (7th grade) and Amanda Blaisdell (8thgrade) had their players participate in the dynamic stretch routine that mimics the soccer warm-up at UVM. The girls then worked on their touches (short passing drills), followed by timed progressive possession games (2 touch, 1touch, etc.). Good luck to the Junior Falcons for the remainder of their season, and thanks for sharing some practice time with the older girls!
