Falcons Lose in Semi-Finals for Third Straight Year

ESSEX–The biggest game of the weekend for North Country sports fans took place deep in Hornet Country, as the Falcons and the Essex Hornets took to the ice with a trip to the Gutterson Field House for the Division I State Title on the line.A sluggish start proved to be the Falcons' undoing, as Essex notched two goals in the first period en route to a 5-2 win."We played them three times (this year) and it seems that each time we played them we took a period off, and against that team you can't do that," said NCU coach Ryan Jacobs. "(Essex) is a solid hockey club and they don't have many weaknesses. They are very smart with puck and if you don't play forty-five minutes against them, you are in trouble."
