Falcons, UCA Lose, Lady Rangers Win in Girls Soccer

BFA 1, North Country 0
ST. ALBANS-Phoebe Martell-Crawford scored 19:03 into the first half to help give BFA St. Albans the 1-0 win over the North Country Falcons.
"They are a very skilled team and they totally dominated us early on," said NCU coach Peter Alexander.
The Falcons, who are still adapting to their new home in the Metro, where able to gather their bearings and regroup in the second half.
"We had four golden chances to tie the game in the second half, but we just could not finish. They deserved the win." Alexander said. "We are still getting used to the tempo of this level."
This year also marks the Comets’ first foray into the Metro Division as well.
Jenna Moss had nine saves in the contest, and NCU put five shots on BFA's Dani Schreiner.
The loss drops the Falcons to 0-1 on the young season, and they will look to move to .500 when they host Lyndon under the lights this Friday at 6:30.

Lake Region 5, Lyndon 1
LYNDON CENTER-Tyrah Urie picked up right where she left off last season, scoring three goals to guide the Lady Rangers past the Vikings on Tuesday afternoon.
Urie netted all three of her goals in the first 18 minutes of the contest.
Haley Kennedy and Katie Menard also tallied for Lake Region.
The Lady Rangers will take their 1-0 record to Enosburg this Friday for a 4:30 match-up.
Winooski 5, UCA 0
WINOOSKI-With both teams playing two players aside due to UCA being shorthanded, the Spartans cruised to the win in the Crusaders’ season opener.
UCA goalie Adreanna Andrews made 17 saves in the contest.
The team will welcome in Craftsbury on Friday at 4:30 for their home opener
