JAY-On Friday, May 31st, North Country’s girls golf team competed in its final tournament of the season at the Jay Peak Golf Course.
The abbreviated field had Captain Paige Gagnon shooting a 64 in the nine hole event, with teammate Tanika Demers posting a 77.
“I found the course very difficult, but I certainly enjoyed the setting,” she reported.
Paige’s feelings were echoed by a number of the other players saying, “I love the course.”
As local players know, Jay Peak will tax your supply of golf balls, but the course was in excellent condition and manager Jamie Stenger made everyone welcome.
First place was taken by South Burlington with a combined score of 112, followed by Missisquoi Valley with 113, and North Country 141.
The regular season is in the books. League champion was Essex, followed by South Burlington, MVU, BFA, St. J, Rice, Burlington and North Country.
States are on Tuesday at Proctor Pittsford
