DERBYâ€“The staff at IROC is getting ready for Saturday's 5th Annual Kingdom Triathlon and Seymour Swim.
"We are expecting around one-hundred and fifty people this year," said Sue Engel.
The event draws people from all over the United States and internationally as well.
Staff members spent Thursday gathering materials in preparation for Friday's jaunt around the NEK to set up for the event.
There will be an early registration and sign in at IROC Friday from 1:00-7:00 PM and the "Crazy Nuts Dinner" that evening from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Eastside Restaurant.
Saturday's Festivities will begin with Registration from 6-6:30 AM at Seymour Lake and the Derby Beach House.
7:30 AM marks the start time for the Aquaman (3.5 mile swim - 30 mile bike - 13.1 mile run) and the Seymour Swim at Seymour Beach.
The Ollie (1.75 mile swim - 13.25 mile bike - 6.2 mile run) participants will kick off their race from Seymour Beach at 8:00 AM with the Sprint racers (500 yd swim - 13 mile bike - 5 mile run) departing from the Derby Beach House at 9:00 AM.
A picnic lunch will begin to be offered at 10:30 AM and will run until 3:30 at the Derby Beach House.
The Awards for each division will be awarded starting at Noon for the Sprinters, 1:00 for the Ollies and 3:00 for Aquaman.
Sprint racers will have a single transition area, the Derby Beach House, for all three of their stages, while the Ollie and Aquaman will have two, starting with the swimming beginning at Seymour Beach on the northern side of the lake and transitioning to the biking portion, which will take them to the Derby Beach House where they will switch over to the final leg, the run.
Aquaman and Ollie racers should locate their transition stations in Derby, leaving their running gear and then heading up to Seymour for the start of the race.
