Lady Rangers get 1st Win, Boys Suffer 1st Loss

ORLEANS-It was a night of firsts for the Lake Region basketball program on Thursday.
First, the Lake Region girls won their first game of the season, defeating Lyndon 47-38.
Emily Lawson led the way for the 1-4 Lady Rangers with 14 pts.
Said LR coach Joe Houston on getting the all important first win, "It feels really good. We talk about how we're patient, and that the losses are ok because we are building, but it does definitely feels good to get one in the win column."
On the boys side, The Rangers were in East Montpelier taking on U-32, and the outcome was not so friendly, as they tasted defeat for the first time this season, losing 60-52.
Dennis Newland had a team-high 15 for the 4-1 Rangers.
Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, with the girls hosting Richford at 2:30 and the boys traveling to Lyndon for a 1:30 showdown.
