ORLEANS-There are many ways to win a softball game, and when one way doesn’t work, manager Matt Tinker’s team has found other ways to get it done.
The Ranger girls broke open a close 2-2 game in the fifth with four runs only to see Stowe get four of their own in the top of the seventh, sending the game into extra frames.
It ended in the bottom of the ninth as Stephanie Merchant laid down a perfect suicide squeeze, plating Whitney Poginy with the game winner, giving the Lady Rangers their best nine game start in school history at 7-2.
