LRUHS Tuition Rate Set At Four Percent Increase

BARTON - The Lake Region Union High School board learned at their December 2 meeting that Business Manager Heather Wright has calculated the new tuition rate. The board voted to accept a new rate of $12,900, a four percent increase over the previous rate.
“This is in line with what is equitable,” Wright said. “We could charge more as our expenses went up, so tuition should increase too.” The increase is $500 and must be approved by the Department of Education.

Focus On Algebra And Portfolios

Messier held a discussion with the school board on Monday outlining two of many goals he would like to accomplish. At a prior meeting Messier raised the prospect of having eighth-grade students take algebra at the high school with LRUHS providing the teacher and class space. Sending schools would be responsible for transportation costs.
