MANCHESTER, NH–The U-16 Vermont Shamrock team is heading to the USA Hockey Tier II National Tournament for third straight year, as they defeated the Connecticut Stars 4-0 to win the New England Regional Championships on Sunday afternoon.
Vermont's U-19 team also made it to the regional finals, but they fell 1-0 and had to settle for second place.
There is still an outside chance that the U-19's could make it to Nationals, but that would require another team that qualified to drop out.
This year's National Championships will be held in Buffalo, NY in early April.
North Country's Whitney Bernier and Anyas Morin are a part of the U-16 team, while Lake Region student Corrina Cota suited up for the U-19 squad.
Cota, along with fellow Lake Region student Taylor Morley were part of the 2013 U-16 Shamrock team that won National Championship.
