JERICHOâ€“Despite the limited amount of snow that we have received this winter, the North Country nordic teams have been able to compete in their last two races.
The first one up was the Mount Mansfield Pursuit.
The girls took home fourth place with an overall team score of 117.
Lindsay Cotnoir was the top finisher, coming in tied for twenty-fifth with Laura Andrews and Ellie Stone of CVU. CVU took home first place at the event.
Stephanie Watson was the only other Falcon in the top fifty, finishing fifty-first.
Jade Dandurand was seventieth, followed by Adele Woodmanse in seventy-first. Laura Smith, Anne Arcoleo, and Jordan Howell rounded out the Varsity girls finishing ninety-first, one-hundred and ninth, and one-hundred and tenth respectively.
The boys were in eleventh place at MMU, ending with a 274 team score.
None of the boys competed in the free style, and the first one to finish the race for North Country was Brad Dopp in sixty-fourth. He was followed by Jon Trembley in eightieth, Alex Cotnoir at eighty-third, Trevor Howell in eighty-fourth, Sam Brunnette in eighty-sixth, Alex Charboneau in one-hundredth, and Harry Foster in one-hundred second.
At the TD Bank Craftsbury Marathon this past Saturday both teams had great showings.
For the girls Haley-Jo Tetreault and Cotnoir were back-to-back in third and fourth place. Erika Fortin and Jordan Howell tied for ninth, Dandurand was fifteenth, Woodmanse sixteenth, Watson nineteenth, and Arcoleo was twenty-fifth.
The boys had a much better week at the races.
Charboneau led the boys with his seventh place spot. Alex Cotnoir came in eleventh, Brunnette thirteenth, Brian DeLaBruere fourteenth, Dopp seventeenth, Howell eighteenth, Chris Meredith nineteenth, and Harry Foster was twenty-third.
The team will head down to East Burke for the Technique Classic this Saturday at 11:00.
