North Country Does It Again, Remains Undefeated in Tournament Play

NEWPORT-In what could only be called a shocker, North Country shut-out Lake Region in District Tournament play on Thursday.
Aidan Gariepy was dominant, getting the win for the maroon and blue.
His backstop Nick Bingham was a beast at the plate, driving in two runs in the third to break open what was a 2-0 game.
Oh, and he also yanked home as well.
With the win, North Country all but writes their ticket to the State Tournament.
Lake Region, who will be hosting States in Barton, already gets a bye into the Tourney.
Championship play will get under way on Saturday, although times may vary depending on weather.
Again, keep in mind, if Northfield loses to Lake Region, both the future Rangers and North County will make States.
So the question remains, if Lake Region disposes of Northfield, and they have the talent to do so, is the trophy for Districts worth it, or do you save your arms?
See what the coaches decide this weekend.
