NEWPORT CITY- North Country Career Center recently hosted an event in which students were presented with ideas of what women can do in non-traditional careers. Career Center Director Eileen Illuzzi advised the school board Tuesday that a presentation was made to show women non-traditional occupations through workshops and presentations.
“It’s intended to show the possibilities that can be available to them,” Illuzzi stated.
Board member Maggie Griffith applauded the effort remarking, “What women can do; anything a man can do but better,” as other members joined her by laughing. “If we had more women as leaders in the world it would be better,” Griffith stated. “Men like to fight, I do to but not so much!”
