ORLEANS, VT - Chief Lone Cloud, also known as Ralf Swett, reported that the Feathers store on Main Street in Orleans was burglarized last Thursday night.
The culprits broke one of the front doors and ransacked the place. An estimated $10,000 in items was taken, including all the computers. The store was also trashed.
The matter was reported to both the Orleans County Sheriff's Department and the Vermont State Police but no law enforcement press releases have been issued yet. Fortunately, the inventory was also listed on E-Bay, according to the Chief, so the owners can determine what was missing and its value.
This falls on the heels of numerous reports of vehicles being vandalized in the Orleans-Barton area, some of which were in the park-and-ride parking area and at least one of which was parked at the victim’s home.
