COVENTRY – The owners of the famous Parker Pie Restaurant in West Glover are opening a second location at the Newport State Airport in Coventry.
Last winter, plans were outlined for expansion at the airport and opening a restaurant was one of the goals.
Dan Gauvin, owner of Lakeview Aviation said the restaurant will be an asset to the airport. The new restaurant space was a hangar and maintenance shed. Gauvin moved the maintenance shed to a larger building.
Parker Pie is renovating the inside of the building and the state is renovating the outside.
Parker Pie is known far and wide for its menu items, particularly its pizza, and for the entertainment events. It has become a community gathering place in West Glover and is so popular that it has gone through expansions to help accommodate the large crowds that gather there.
