ALBANY – Jerry Johnson, a former educator at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts and former tennis pro, recently released his second book of poems, "Up the Creek Without a Saddle."
Johnson, also known as the Creek Road Poet, writes about what he sees and what is special in his heart. A dream of his was fulfilled when Jon Gailmor and Pete Sutherland, two well-known Vermont musicians, took 16 of his book’s 99 poems and set them to music to produce a CD. When the book is purchased on Johnson’s website, the CD is included for free.
“Working with Jon and Pete was one of the most satisfying projects I have ever done in my life,” Johnson said during an interview Sunday. “It was a fabulous collaboration. I could not have picked two better musicians to do it.”
