Rangers pick up the "W" against Richford

April 25, 2011

Derik Messier rips a base hit against the Richford Falcons.

RICHFORD-The Lake Region Rangers made the most of their eight hits as they used alert base running and took advantage of ten Richford walks en route to a fifteen run rule 17-2 six inning victory over the Falcons.
The Rangers were led offensively by catcher Corey Whitten and third baseman Trevor Royer, who drove in three runs each. Winning pitcher Kyle Perry, who gave up only four hits in five innings, added three hits to aid his own cause.
The Rangers held an 8-1 led going into the sixth inning when they sent 17 men to the plate scoring nine runs to put the contest on ice.
Manager Eric Degre, recording his first victory as the programs head man, said ”the difference today for Kyle Perry was the fact that he threw strikes. He stayed ahead of hitters all day. Offensively we manufactured runs and took advantage of their mistakes.”
