Snowboarding Falcons Fly High in Stowe

STOWE– On Tuesday, the North Country boys and girls snowboarding teams traveled to Stowe to take part in a slope side competition against four other schools. The day was cold, the rails were solid and the jumps were huge. When the snow had settled, the girls team tied for first place with Burr and Burton Academy, and were led by captains Gina Basiliere, who finished second and Anna Ghelli in third.
The boys team had a third place finish as a team, and they were paced by Justin Christopher's ninth place finish and Josh Brien, who rode in at the number twelve spot.
The event proved that the riders in this young program can compete with anyone in the state.
The team would also like to remind everyone about their movie night/silent auction at the high school this Sunday at 5:30.
Come see some amazing snowboarding footage, bid on some wonderful items, and help support the NCU snowboarding team.
