NEWPORT– With a late 4:00 start due to the SAT's the North Country boys tennis team squared off against Montpelier at Prouty Beach.
Both teams came to the match short-handed and the decision was made by both teams to each forfeit one of their doubles match. If the score ended in a tie, the team that won the most sets would pick up the victory.
As luck would have it, the match ended in a tie, and the Solons earned the win by virtue of their 7-6 edge in sets won.
Travers Parsons-Grayson (6-0, 6-2) and Maoz Knight (6-3, 6-2) earned wins in the numbers three and four singles, while the doubles team of Andrew Medley and Zach Tweed (6-3, 4-6, 6-2) won in the lone doubles competition.
