NEWPORT–Looking at the standings before the start of Tuesday's boy's basketball game between North Country and CVU, I figured that this was definitely a game where the Falcons could make a statement.
Both teams had similar records, and had wins and losses against common opponents.
When I got to the gym, I told public address announcer Bob Currier that this was going to be a good game, and that I thought the Falcons could come away with a win.
Sure enough, when the final horn sounded to end the game the score board read 59-54 in favor of the home team, as the Falcons earned their fourth win of the season to improve to 4-5 on the year.
