SWANTON–Going up against 9-2-1 Missisquoi, the North Country field hockey team (3-8-2) gave the Thunderbirds all they could handle in a gritty 2-0 loss.
“It was a great game, cold, but very well played,” said coach Chantelle Bouchard.
Danielle Gabucci shone in the loss, stopping seventeen out of nineteen shots.
“She made a ton of great saves,” said Bouchard. “She was diving to stop the ball, you name it, she did it.”
If the season ended today, the two teams would meet each other in the opening round of the division three play-offs.
As it stands right now, there is a very good chance of that happening.
Before that can happen, the Falcons will wrap up their season at home this afternoon at 3:45.
