Even though the North Country Career Center is under construction, the Adult Services classes will be pushing full speed ahead.
Coordinator Eileen Illuzzi said, even though it's been a difficult time, classes start Monday.
"We've had great cooperation from the high school staff, the career center and construction officials," she said.
Some students, including those taking computer classes, will have to walk through a maze to get to their second floor classes. Classes that don't require computers will be held in the B-Wing or in the Land Lab in Derby.
Registration continues through the day the class begins. Some courses, however, require pre-registration and basic skills assessment test.
The Adult Services Department, which will be running a reduced number of classes, will also be offering online opportunities.
"This is a collaborative with Ed2Go," she said, noting those classes start later this month. "There are more than 300 classes available." According to Ed2Go's website, Education To Go is the nation's largest provider of online continuing education courses for adults. Through a unique partnership with more than 1,500 colleges and universities, we have served over 1,000,000 students since 1997.
According to Illuzzi, the Vermont Training Program, under the Dept. of Economic Development, will reimburse up to 50 percent of employer-paid tuition for employees who take approved courses in manufacturing, medical field, information technologies, green industries and telecommunications.
