ST. ALBANS/NEWPORT — Helen Rich, 89, a former resident of this area passed away on Tuesday evening, August 19, 2008, at the Newport Health Care Center following an extended illness.
She was born in St. Albans, Vt. on Dec. 18, 1918, the daughter of the late Edward Rich and Ida (Russell) Richard.
Helen is survived by several nieces, nephews and close companion and friend, Jackie Swett of Newport. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Rich, Norman Rich, Nellie Deso, Velma Messick, Florence Turcott, Walter Rich and Ida May Rich.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. The Reverend Mr. Duane E. Langlois, Deacon at Holy Angels Parish will officiate. Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
