West Charleston Man Held On Bail After Denying Charge He Drugged, Sexually Assaulted School Girl

NEWPORT CITY - A West Charleston man was held at the Northern State Correctional Facility on $500,000 bail Tuesday after pleading not guilty to felony charges of kidnapping, sexual assault, and sexual assault using drugs to impair.If Michael McFarland, 30, makes bail he must stay at least 300 feet away from his alleged victim, her family, her home, her vehicle, and her school, and he may not initiate or maintain contact with any female under 18 unless otherwise approved by the court.Please see The Newport Daily Express Wednesday for the complete story.
