NEWPORT, VT - Newport City Firefighters tended to a car that caught on fire at the One Stop Mini-Mart yesterday afternoon. A woman had called 911 yelling that the car was in flames.
Newport City Police arrived on scene and saw flames coming from the engine.
A passerby used a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze and police pushed the car away from the building. The car was not next to the pumps.
Edwin Bolton III of Newport Center owns the car.
