SOUTH BURLINGTON-The NCU varsity girls golf team traveled across the state on Wednesday to compete at the Vermont National Golf Club against a field of Metro League, Division I teams.
The team was represented by freshman Katie Goulet (52), junior Tanika Demers (66) and Captain Paige Gagnon (64).
While everyone agreed that they could have scored better, they all enjoyed a beautiful day on the links.
Paige had, except for one hole, long straight drives and reinforces Tanika’s quote of “this is a game of positivity, otherwise you will do worse.”
Katie’s score was the 4th best of the field, and led the team to a 3rd place.
But still as Katie says “I have a lot of work to do, and I know I can do better.”
To which coach Hampton replied, “That is something we can all do.”
However, while the team had the luxury of a very sunny day, coach Hampton was surprised to learn on the ride back, that while sunny days are nice, they produce tan lines which cause problems when wearing prom dresses.
The girls will be back in action on Monday May 12th at 12:00 at home.
