NEWPORT–North Country ran into a tough pitching Missisquoi Valley Union Thunderbirds team on Tuesday, as Dakota Raleigh threw seven strong innings in the T-Birds 8-0 win over the Falcons.
"They pitched a lot in to us, and some of them (NCU) couldn't make the adjustment," said Coach Dunn.
The Falcons were in striking distance most of the game, but a five run top of the seventh made it a much tougher mountain to climb.
Kayla Desheneau went the distance for the Falcons, and Mariah Roberts and Anna Bingham had the lone hits for North Country.
Coach Dunn's squad now look towards the final games of the 2011 season, which could have an impact as to where the Falcons are seeded come play-off time next week.
"We've got Rice, that should be a good game, we've got Middlebury, that should be a good game. Colchester will probably be back and forth, so we will see what will happen. We take it one game at a time."
The team travels to Rice today for a 4:30 game.
