The North Country Girls Golf Team competed in the Vermont State, Division I Championships on Tuesday, at the Proctor Pittsford Country Club. With a combined score of 230, they tied for seventh in the ten team tournament. Eilish Muir improved her score over last year by 35%. Shooting a respectable 123, she had her best hole on the 7th,a par 3. “I used my 5 iron to put the ball four feet from the pin, just missed the birdie putt. But, I wasn’t short, and made the easy putt back for my par. Unfortunately, it was my only par.”
North Country’s second player was Junior Bailey Walker. Bailey also improved over last year, by 10 strokes. She carded a 107, and was eighth over-all, in a field of 30 players. “Proctor is a gorgeous course, but it is difficult and I seemed to find all the troubled spots. I’m going to practice over the summer, and hope to get some low 40’s next year.” Next year will be their senior year, and they will be looking for new players to join the team.
