Mary Hoadley, the daughter of Gary and Sarah Hoadley of Newport, and Nathan Sargent, the son of Richard and Shelley Sargent of Newport Center, were united in marriage on July 2, 2011 on the waterfront of Lake Memphremagog in Newport, Vermont with Pastor Lawrence Wall officiating the double ring ceremony.
The couple and their guests were serenaded by a Celtic harp and Native American flute played by Chris Nicotera and his wife Heather Webster.
The bride, given in marriage by her father Gary Hoadley, wore a flowing gown with a single strap of flowers and she carried a bouquet of ivory roses and lizzie anthis.
The matron of honor was her sister, Meghan Graser of Portland, Maine. Mary also had her brother Matthew Hoadley of Scituate, MA as an attendant. The attendant for the groom was his sister Megan Sargent-Roberge. Both ladies wore teal dresses and the men were dressed in light colored suits.
The reception was held at the Gateway Center in Newport, Vermont with guests attending from all over New England, New York City and Orlando, Florida. The guests received monogrammed stemless wine glasses at their place setting and large fish bowls of goldfish in place of flowers in the center of each table.
Abundant Blessings made the layered cake; it was a traditional butter-cream frosting with a chocolate ganche. The music was provided by Super Sounds DJ and the photographer was Don Whipple.
The happy couple hopes to honeymoon in the coming year and will continue to reside in Newport, Vermont. Mary is the Manager of the Wellness Center at North Country Hospital and Nathan is currently working at Cherry Tree Hill as a website photographer. Both are graduates of North Country Union High School.
