ST. ALBANS–The Lake Region track and field team headed over Franklin County to participate in a BFA hosted meet at the Collins-Pearly Complex.
The Rangers had a strong showing with the girls placing second and the boys taking home third.
In girls competition, Emily Close and Tyrah Urie were 1,2 in the 100 meter dash, and 1,3 in the 200, Shannon Eubanks won the 110 hurdles and took third in the 300 hurdles, Close won the long jump, Johanna Gercke was second in the triple jump, and Katie Powers won the discus. The girls also won the 4x100 and took second in the 4x400 and 4x800.
For the boys, Matt Lyon and Trey Lalime were 1,2 in the100 meter dash, Lyon won the 200 meter dash, Josh Thibeault was second in the 400, Cody Dollof was third in the 3000, Dennis Newland was second in the high jump, Lalime won the long jump with Thibeault in second, Jon Bacon and Evan McKenzie were 1,2 in the triple jump, and Garret Rockwell and Newland were 1,3 in the shot put.
In the team events Lake Region won the 4x100.
The Rangers will be back in action on the 25th at a meet hosted by St. Johnsbury.
