FAIRFAX–The Lake Region boys picked up a win while the Lady Rangers fell in Wednesday's make up game against BFA Fairfax.
Behind four innings of work by Kyle Perry and three innings by Logan Harper, the Rangers won a close one 3-2.
"We played some great defense behind our pitching today," said coach Eric Degre.
Cory Whitten had a double in the win.
The softball team did not have as much fun, losing 8-1 against one of the top teams in the Mountain Division.
Four of the eight runs were unearned.
Both teams will head to Stowe on Saturday for a doubleheader against the Raiders.
LYNDON–The Lake Region girls track team took home first place while the boys finished second at the LI hosted event on Wednesday.
Emily Close and Tyrah Urie were 1-2 in the 100 and 1-3 in the 200 and Close was 2nd in the 400. Hannah Hahn was 2nd in the 110 hurdles, Emily Lawson was 2nd in the 300 hurdles, Close won the long jump, Lisa Loffer and Hahn were 1-3 in the triple jump, Kayla Margolla was 2nd in shot and Anna Willis was 3rd in discus.
The girls were 2nd in the 4x100 and 3rd in the 4x400.
On the boys side Seth Lawson took 2nd in the 800, Canaan McKenzie was 2nd in the 300 hurdles, Trey Lalime was 2nd in the long jump, Jon Bacon and Josh Thibeault were 2-3 in the triple jump and James Margolla was 3rd in the shot.
The boys won the 4x100, 2nd in the 4x400 and 4x800.
Next up is a trip to St. Johnsbury next Wednesday
