Orleans-The Lake Region Sun Devils picked up their second victory of the season in girls 16-U Babe Ruth softball action Wednesday night with a 15-0 victory over the Hardwick Wildcats.
Lake Region plated two in the first inning and eight more in the second to jump out to an early insurmountable lead.
Michelle Thibeault smacked a triple for the host Sun Devils, and after an injury reduced Hardwick to two outfielders, Sabrina Roberge took advantage and sent a liner down the left field line that she legged out for a home run.
Hannah Brown and Jade Jarvis also added a pair of hits for Lake Region. Brittney Lantagne and Alexis Smith combined on a one-hitter on the mound.
“It was good to see everybody hit tonight, up and down the line-up,” said LR coach Matt Tinker.
These same two teams battled the previous Saturday, with Lake Region escaping with a close 12-9 decision. After spotting Hardwick an early 7-0 lead, the Sun Devils chipped away, finally taking the lead in the 6th, and holding on in the 7th for the win.
Hayley Ingalls picked up the win on the hill for LR, working two innings in relief of Lantagne.
