ORLEANS–The fifty racers at the Lake Region Relays barely missed getting completely drenched as the rain held off while they competed in two-person teams, racing around the LRUHS campus on Monday.
The North Country boys and girls had a fine showing at the event.
Led by the duo of Ross DeLaBruere and Sam Brunnette (1st place, 19:48), the Falcons had four of the top five finishes in the boy-boy division, and race, to take first place overall.
Coming in behind the pair were Andrew Franklin and Patrick Tetreault (2nd, 20:14), Brian DeLaBruere and Parker LaCourse (4th, 21:09) followed by brothers Sam & Ben Dillner (5th 21:55).
The girls took second place in the all female division.
Laura Smith and Jade Dandurand finished 17th overall in 27:54.
Lake Region’s boy/girl team of Cody Dollof and Emily Close were 6th overall with a time of 22:38, tops for the division.
Haley Kennedy and Emily Millar were the top all-female team, finishing 15th in 26:32.

Neil DeLaBruere/Wyatt Hamby (NC) in 7th, Fred Petzoldt/ Alex Charboneau (NC) 8th, Brad Dopp/Rebekah Young (NC) 16th, Maggie Stuart/Anne Arcoleo 19th, Ryan Steeter/ Elise Morissette (LR) 20th.
