DERBY CENTER - North Country Union Junior High School Board member Richard Nelson asked board members and school administrators last week what the policy is on having faculty and staff be immunized from the flu.
“I can't believe the number of people who don't get the flu shot.” Nelson observed. “With the number of people employed here – and with all the students – these schools are incubators for education and disease.”
The inquiry led to a brief discussion among board members, with Maggie Griffith stating she had the flu shot once but had a reaction to it. “It should be up to the individual,” Griffith stated.
