ORLEANS–The Lady Rangers did not finnish up the regular season they way they wanted to, as they fell to Winooski 56-45.
The game was seen as a test for Lake Region as they prepare to head into the play-offs without a few crucial members of their squad.
"That game was one we really wanted to win for seeding purposes," said assistant coach Joe Houston. "It wasn't a one-and-done situation, but it was sort of like that atmosphere, and we did not handle it the way we wanted to in terms of coming out and staying composed.
"They got a couple of easy baskets and we kind of fell apart in the first half."
Lake Region finishes the season at 16-4, securing the fourth seed and a likely home-court match with 7-13 Mill River when play-offs begin this week.
14-6 Winooski will be the five seed in D III.
Looking towards the play-offs, Houston talked about what they are going to have to do in order to find success in the second season.
"It is going to have to be a team effort. We had Allie Hall doing some stuff for us, Michelle Thibeault made some key baskets, but when we make our run, we are going to have to have all of our girls step up and just do a little more," he said.
