WHITE RIVER–Hartford got off to an 11-0 start in the first, and although Lake Region would battle back, making it 26-26 in third, the Hurricanes were just too strong, as they cruised to the 60-39 quarter-final win.
"They played tough defense, and as much as we tried to prepare the girls for it, we struggled early in the game before settling down," said LRU coach Mark Tinker. "Hopefully it is a good learning experience for the ones coming back, and an unfortunate ending for the ones that are graduating."
Emily Lawson and Sarah Burnham each had nine points and combined for eight rebounds to lead the Lady Rangers on Friday.
Grobe had a game-high 19 for Hartford.
