ORLEANS-There was a good old-fashioned donnybrook at Lake Region Thursday afternoon, as Danville and LR squared off in high school softball action.
By the time everyone in attendance finally exhaled, the host Rangers had escaped with an exciting 9-8 victory.
Danville starter Kaylynn Zangla took the loss, striking out four without allowing a walk. Hannah Leroux went the distance for LR, allowing 6 hits, striking out 5 and walking 6.
LR moves to 4-2 with the win, and hosts undefeated and defending D2 champion Fairfax Tuesday. Danville evens their record at 4-4.
