DERBY–– People lined up on both sides of the street from the Elks Club in Derby all the way down Main Street for its annual July 4th parade. Onlookers were not disappointed as the parade was about an hour an half long and the sun kept on shining.
There were plenty of floats to see which included the Derby Lions Club, Memphremagog Watershed Association, QNEK's Annie, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Cars of Yesteryear, all kinds of farm tractors and equipment, ATVs, horse and buggies, and the ETWA Wrestlers who showed off some of their skills to the crowd. The parade concluded with the first responders from Derby Line, Newport, and Stanstead, Quebec.
After the parade many patrons gathered in front of North Country Union Junior High School for some refreshments and a barbecue. Others took a look around at the local crafters' booths.
