NEWPORT CITY - A former North Country Hospital employee accused of having a computer that contained patient information entered a not guilty plea Tuesday in the criminal division of Orleans Superior Court to petit larceny of $900 of less and buying, receiving, selling, possessing, concealing stolen property of $900 or less. Judge Howard VanBenthuysen released the man, 30-year-old Christian Cornelius, with conditions.
Cornelius must not discuss the case with hospital employees and stay away from the hospital except for medical reasons.
Using a court order, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department retrieved from the computer from Cornelius and turned it over to hospital staff within the past month, Chief Deputy Sheriff Phillip Brooks said Wednesday.
